Elite Coach Booking started at a private pickleball court in Provo, Utah. Liz and Clayton coach. Robert builds software. Together we built the booking system we wished the academy had.

The academy that started it

It started on one court in Provo.

In 2021 the Boydston family moved from Austin to Provo, Utah. Everyone in town played pickleball, so the family picked up paddles too. Nobody in the house had played before. Liz had played softball at BYU. Clayton and his sister Ella were serious soccer players.

Liz started coaching, and the coaching turned into a business: Boydston Pickleball Academy, built around a private court in Provo. Then came the part nobody teaches you.

A potential student would text about a lesson, and it took something like twelve messages back and forth to land one booking. Then the lesson happened, and someone had to bring up payment on the court, with the student standing right there.

Neither of those is coaching. Both of them cost real time and made a good coach feel like a bad office manager.

So we wanted a system that let Liz and Clayton fill their lessons without the thread: a player picks a real open time, sees what it costs, and books. Everything else follows from that idea.

We did not set out to build software for everyone. We built it for coaches who work the way Liz and Clayton do: private lessons, clinics, camps, recurring clients, and the small academies that grow out of them.

Robert Boydston

Builds the product and the systems behind it

Robert runs Next Level AI Solutions, an agency that builds voice AI agents and workflow automation for working businesses. The jobs are practical: answer the phone, follow up with the lead, move work from one system to the next without a person babysitting it.

When he looked at how Liz and Clayton were booking lessons, it was the same problem he fixes for clients, with a paddle in it. Elite Coach Booking is that experience, pointed at coaches.

He builds software to be inspected. You should be able to see what happened and why, with no mystery between a client tapping a time and a lesson landing on your calendar.

Clayton Boydston

Co-founder and pickleball coach

Clayton was a soccer player before the family picked up paddles in 2021. Four years later he was competing and winning on the PPA and APP pro tours. He earned College All-American honors at Utah Tech, won College Pickleball Worlds with the team, and plays at a 5.8 level.

He coaches the way he was coached: find the pattern that is costing you points, drill the fix, then prove it under live play. And he still lives the coach’s week, between lessons, travel, and tournaments, so he knows exactly where a coach’s time leaks.

What drives him now is helping other coaches run their coaching like a real business, and look as professional off the court as they do on it.

Liz Boydston

Founder and head coach, Boydston Pickleball Academy

Liz played softball at BYU and started coaching pickleball after the move to Provo. She built the coaching system that took all four of her kids to 5.0 or better, and she coached Clayton and Ella to the pro tour.

She is the coach we built the first version for. Her lessons connect mechanics to court position, shot choice, and partner movement, and her calendar deserves the same intent.
